Beatles: Mono Box
When the Beatles were recording their albums legendary in the 1960s almost everyone listened to his music again using a mono playback system. Since that almost everyone was listening to your music in mono, it only made sense that the Beatles spent most of his time perfecting their mono mixes while basically just "throw together" stereo mixes. In fact, according to Geoff Emerick (who worked on many Beatles recordings) the band was devoted almost nothing of the stereo mix.
The top 10 Beatles albums were mixed in mono and stereo (the first two albums were only mixed in mono.) And now as part of Mono The Beatles Box Set all 10 albums are included in its original mono mix. This is a broad agreement for the purists of The They want to hear Beatles songs, as initially intended to be heard.
But that is not "purists" who should be interested listen to these mixes in mono. Many have argued that the mono mix is understood not only how these albums to be heard, but actually sound much better than mono made in stereo. For example, John Lennon has said that 1967 classic Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band sounds much better in mono as it does in stereo.
And though it sounds "better" (which is a subjective statement anyway.) Certainly sounds different! There are many differences in what can be heard in versions mono Sgt. Pepper and other Beatles albums that can be heard on the stereo versions. Some instruments are mixed louder. There are certain effects (like an echo the voices in "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"), which were lost in the stereo versions. If you're a big Beatles fan like me, then curious to hear Albums (all studio albums, the UK, including Magical Mystery Tour even though it was initially only released as an EP in the UK) is also an album of songs not called Mono Masters included. Mono Masters has all the Beatles songs that were never included on an album that mixes in mono. If you are thinking that the album does not mean that the songs are not very good, then you are definitely wrong! Many of the best songs of the Beatles never included on an album greatest hits like "Day Tripper" and "I Want to Hold Your Hand".
The Beatles final three albums (including Let It Be and Abbey Road) not are included in the box mono. Why not? Because they never were mixed in mono first. In 1969 he had been completely removed as cute as the Beatles did not bother to mix their albums in mono at all. How quickly things changed in the 1960s!
